The rare Zi Sha clay, also known as purple sand, found solely in Yixing, Jiangsu province, is used exclusively for these teapots. Primarily used to steep oolong teas via gong fu style, they may also be used with other premium teas. It is recommended that you dedicate a Yixing to a specific tea, as it will take on the flavor of that variety.
